The refrigerator, sink and stove must be near to each other. A minimum of 4 feet between each point to ease of access, and equally not more than 9 feet. This distance allows an easy access to get food from the ref for preparation, and then into the oven. While, a dishwasher is usually located near the sink. On the other hand, in a large kitchen design, you may have a separate sink for clean up, then put the dishwasher in this area, perhaps on the kitchen island.

Consider Enough Space for Doors and Drawers

In kitchen appliances positioning, make sure to allot enough space for opening and closing of door appliances, especially the oven. You should have enough space for the oven door to open and close, and to safely move around the oven door for taking in and out of food. Another kitchen appliance to get into consideration is the direction in which the refrigerator door swings. It is for an easy way of putting away groceries and access of food in the refrigerator when cooking. Moreover, make sure that an open dishwasher door for not block access to the sink.

Consider Small Appliances

Most kitchens include small appliances such as toasters, coffee makers, slow cookers, stand mixers, and more. It is important to make sure that these small appliances have a specific place that is easily accessible. It is better to place a coffee mixer in a beverage station, stand mixers in a pop up shelf, and a storage for other small appliances on pull out shelves.

Designing a new kitchen layout and choosing new kitchen appliances is an exciting process. Make sure to consider the kitchen appliances positioning tips mentioned above to create a well-functioning kitchen space.
